Song Vs Song II
You know the drill here is this weeks pair. Happy feuding :D
Miles Davis... duh
This one is impossibly difficult but I think I'm leaning torward Ministry. Not voting just yet though.
Ministry, easily. I like my jazz upbeat.
I voted for Ministry. I don't mind Miles Davis but I've been a Ministry fan since I was 14.
I will play both and give each a fair chance (I doubt I've heard the Miles track, and know the Ministry one very well). I just want to say that the live version of Ministry's on In Case you Didn't Feel Like Showing Up is amazing, I enjoy it more than the studio version. And saying that makes me realize I shouldn't have such an aversion to live albums. Sometimes there are gems.
Damn this one is hard. I love the Miles song but anyone who knows where I'm coming from, as I'm sure Jackhammer does, knows I have to go with the Ministry song.
The next questions is how about the Anti-Nowhere League song "So What" (also covered by Metallica)? How does that stand up against the others? |

Ministry still wins, hands down. I can't believe I even said I would give each a fair chance in my last post. I mean I did, I just played the Miles song and am now playing the Ministry song. But like Janszoon, anyone who knows me knows me and where I'm coming from knows that I'm gonna go with Ministry. This is a bloody anthem of industrial rock, a classic of my youth...and from the album that got me into industrial and industrial rock to begin with. I feel like screaming right now as I play this, so many classic lines in this song, and the live one I mentioned before is even more loaded.
I ONLY KILL...TO KNOW I'M ALIVE!!! <insert headbang emoticon> I did enjoy the Miles Davis song but it's not my thing, I've yet to get into jazz. |
The difference between the two is that Al Jourgensen, ministry, and that song will be forgotten in 18 years (which is how long Miles has been dead), but Miles Davis and So What are still undeniable classics 50 years after the release of Kind of Blue Unarguably one of the greatest albums ever produced.
