that's the worst analogy i ever heard.....i don't know whether to laugh or cry.....

like i said previously, death metal has a very specific sound, there are no drastic variations in the sound, therefore i have every right to conclude i dislike any band that is labeled as death metal even if i've only heard a handful of such bands......

unnastand?

yes, very true, although i would have to expand that to essentially 99% of music that spawned from the 80's.....it's a thing i have....deal with it....

You could say that about any genre, that's what makes it a genre. Even within the confines of the genre much improvisation and experimentation can be found. I don't enjoy most death metal I've heard either, but occasionally bands will pop up that can surprise you (I'd recommend Opeth, they can be considered death metal but have a sound that's much more if you haven't heard them).

And that you entirely disregard an entire decade's worth of music speaks volumes about your knowledge.

Yeah, people should also be able to say that a band sucks without adding "in my opinion" at the end of their sentance.

The last good metal album I heard came out in 1986 so thats a whole 2 decades & a whole genre i`m dismissing.

I guess that makes me doubly ignornant

I don`t want to hear it.

I liked them as a kid , listening to them now is more about nostalgia than music.I can`t see me really getting into any new stuff they do , just wouldn`t interest me anymore.

I can understand and repsect those points and even nwo I'm not arguing or anything, but I'm very critical of music in general, no matter what.. SO of ccourse I 'obtained' it first, before buying it and was blown away, usually msot of these older band reunions are schlocky at ebst but this is one that tryuly deserved it, for a change. And this co-wrker that doesnt' even liek metal much in general at all he ended up buying it, too (he normally listens to more classic punk or jazzy type stuff)
