Katatonia, especially the Tonight's Decision album. Depressing is the first word most people use to describe it.

Most depressing album: The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
Most depressing song: "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division
Most depressing artist/band: don't know...I'd choose either Elliott Smith or Joy Division

I said 'Other' as I think Cold is the most depressing band from 1st to last album.

Oh yes. This is exactly what I was going to say. An extremely dark band, but pretty good. A great drumer and surprisingly very catchy at times.

I've just re-read some of their lyrics at KATATONIA LYRICS - Tonights Decision (1999) and now I am going to play that album. Can't wait for the new album!

lover i don't have to love- bettie serveert (cover of brighteyes)
a dark dedication to the lonely hearts that reject love.
it's enough now- mandalay
a sensual final releasing of a lover who can't fight anymore.
sleep- the dandy warhols
daydreams of obsession, has an ethereal air about it.
closer- lovers electric
an emotional ode to lovers who's love is destined for peril.
street spirit (fade out)- radiohead
a fight against the vulnerability of existence.

Love, Hate, Love by Alice in Chains has a really dark, depressing, and morbid sound about it.

Nirvana is depressing.... how overrated they are.
