A hobo that has a tophat and a mustache is the best breed of homeless.

I thought O was a masterpiece, one of the best records of the 00s. Reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, such a sombre tone to it. The string arrangements were great. 9 was incredibly average. He's had 2 records in about 8 years? He needs to pull his finger out and follow up 9 with something epic.
That's why I was REALLY looking forward to '9'. If I remember rightly, NME called it 'Ikea Rock' or something. I even took a trip to town to buy it 'hard copy' when it was released. That was three hours of my life I'll never get back.

Ikea rock. What do they even mean by that? I love Ikea!

Tough break, you could've sat around doing nothing for 3 hours instead. Much more productive. I'm joking, 9 isn't all bad.. O was always a hard album to follow up. I wonder when he's gonna release another one.

I've had worse days I guess. Though I've a mind to send him a bill for my £3.70 bus fare. I think he owes me that.

I've got high hopes for his next one (providing he didn't cry over his music being compared to a Swedish chair and decided to give up). '9' kind of sounded like it was an album he had to make rather than wanted to make (if that makes any sense). '9' was released about 2006 I think, so we should be due for something pretty soon. I hope.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Maybe he made an epic album and then when it came to following it up, he just ran out of ideas and a creative spark. I only want him to follow up 9 if he has something to offer, if not he may as well not bother. Here's to hoping something for 2011 though.

A truly hard, brilliant song : Cat Power - He Turns Down

have you ever seen the face?
you know the one I'm talking about
have you ever been to that place?
you know (the one) I'm not suppose to say

holding on for something
have you ever held on?
holding on for someone
feels like holding on too long
have you ever held on?

it's not me
I am pretending
I'm not saved, he turned me down
he turns down

it is so nice to meet you
who's gonna look out for you
it's not me
I am pretending
I'm not saved, he turned me down
he turns down

Coldplay are the most depressing band I can think of and in the worst way possible! I can't stand them and I have to leave the room if they are on the radio or I get really down! Some would say a certain band is depressing simply because it's music has a slow pace and honest, realist lyrics that touch on upsetting subjects! I find Coldplay so depressing simply because they sound awful and get too much airplay!!
