I just want to say, because they're up there, that I definitely don't think Tool are depressing, but actually really positive in many regards.
Aenema probably is the most uplifting song ever!

I knew "Viva la Vida" was a rip-off of Joe Satriani's "If I Could Fly" ... but two in the same album ... that's really depressing

I find REM very depressing. Michael Stipe himself actually is depressing. Man that guy puts me down every time. I don't care what all the critics say but that's why I don't like that band: depressing! And they take it all so dead seriously. C'm on! You're making music! That's supposed to be fun! At least in my world. And I don't even find some of the bands on that list depressing at all!

Joy Division isn't fun. Does that make it bad music? Also,

Soooo depressing.

If he's depressed it's probably because he hasn't got a clue why he wrote that song.

That song and video is only less depressing because of Kate Pierson. He's trying to be happy but he isn't. Don't like that song by the way.

The Smiths for me.

Such depressing lyrics to go with Morrisey's voice. Amazing!
