No. But I have a cd that's full of "live at coachella" songs. It's actually pure gold.

Why aren't you going for full weekends I can get ahold of many T in the Park tickets to see only one day worth of gigs. But I want a full weekend with camping one

Default Festivals

It's been a while since I have attended a festival; it's hot, I don't like to hula-hoop, and after about 18 hours, all the music sounds the same.

However, there is one festival in Missouri that has me intrigued :

immix in the stix

intrigued because it doesn't seem to be the usual mash-up of "jammyspammy" - there's some really good bands on there - Driving Wheel, who I love...Devon Allman (hint : he has a famous dad) always rocks the house...Lions of Hazelwood are like a mix of the Stones and Black Keys, but heavier. Colton & Zara are almost "indie kids"...but they aren't as pretentious and more earnest.

I've heard of Particle, don't know much about 'em, but they're with a guy from String Cheese Incident, and I dig them, so...

This thing is about 2 hours away from where I live, and it's cheap as heck - $70 for a 3 day VIP.

Thing is...I don't know who half the other bands are (which isn't a bad thing; at ALL.) especially the electronica-types - don't know much about them at all.

Anyone know anything about this?

Anybody in Missouri/Kansa/Iowa/Arkansas/Nebraska/Illinois going to this?

I have a friend coming from Colorado; she says she's down to go.

Why not?

I'm unfortunately trying to sell my Electric Picnic ticket because i can't get the time off work to go to it, even though it's not until September Basically there's a wedding on the same weekend and a few staff members have to go to it so i have to work unfortunately.

Or maybe i could quit just so i could go hmmm...

Is anyone in Australia going to any of the festivals this summer? I know it's still only Winter, but tickets usually go on sale pretty early. I'm thinking of volunteering at Pyramid Rock - I volunteered last year and all I had to do was work in the bar for 4 hours, then I got to enjoy the rest of the festival for free! Plus I got to camp in the VIP area. I'm not entirely sure when the volunteer application dates are, though.

I think I'm gonna give all of the other festivals a miss... the tickets have gone up to a ridiculous price and they sell out in seconds so there's little point even trying.

Since in NZ the festivals are pretty pathetic, I think I'll go to the best of the lot while I can. So Big Day Out in January, and Rhythm and Vines 3-day New Years music festival. Will I be seeing any fellow NZers there?
