Antonio, I've listened to lots of country; if you give me an album I'll check it out. Don't care what it is. I just have yet to find any country that appeals to me. I dislike old classic country stuff to Johnny Cash to the alternative crap on the radio (though I am aware that constitutes very little of the genre) to death country... For some reason it just doesn't appeal to me. Give me good country and I'll listen to a full album and tell you what I think... and Sweet Nobody, I totally took that the wrong way. My bad. I just thought you're musical taste was completely different than it was. I fixed it now.

And wayfarer, I don't care what people listen to, I thought this thread was just to give our opinions on other people's musical taste in comparison to ours...

Well that was just stupid on my part. What I should say is that what other people listen to doesn't bother me; I won't dislike anyone or look at someone differently for any type of musical taste. However, I guess I do care about what people listen to because knowing who has similar musical tastes allows me to know who's suggestions will most likely be something I enjoy. And I don't like it when people won't give something a chance. I guess that's really what I meant; you're right I do care about it.

From the sounds of it you've already made your mind up on what you think about country. You're going into it with the attitude of "everything else I've listened to is crap so why should this be any different". Going in with that type of cynical mentality will almost surely guarantee that you won't like the album and that the only way you will like it is if it dispensed hookers with cocaine up their fannies. That said, the albums that really got me into the genre were Corb Lund's "Horse Soldier Horse Soldier" and Elliott BROOD's first album "Ambassador"

Yep. I don't like Elliot Brood. I've heard Ambassador and another album that was something to do with Tin. Tried both of them several times, and it definitely didn't do it for me. I did used to just write off country as crap without giving it a chance, and at some point I decided I'd try it. But honestly, I really truly have yet to find a country band that I enjoy. Corb Lund deserves a shot, I haven't heard of them before. If there's something else you think I would like, just tell me and if I haven't heard it I'll listen. See? I'm not writing off an entire genre, I just haven't found anything I like. Unless you consider backwoods jam type bands like The Recipes country; they're more alternative rock/bluegrass/jam music. That's about the closest thing to country that I've ever really liked, I think.

Well I'm mighty glad I got you interested in some of the stuff I was touting. About the country thing, I live in Kansas, man. If you dont like Willie and Waylon, you better be outta town by sundown.

BUMP !

Mojopinuk - He always recommends me stuff and I think "NOOOOO" and ALWAYS enjoy it, like Jeff Buckley - Grace, and Primal scream.
