I'd agree, was I able to decipher half of what you post.
Subtitles anyone?

Not a jab dear boy. I didn't know how to interpret your question, so rather guess, I asked.
Now I know what you mean, I'd say you're spot on.
Northern Soul is personal and intimate to me, not out of choice, but because of it's very nature.
Anyone who takes the time to listen and learn to appreciate this particular kind of soul will inevitably be taken beyond merely listening.
Obviously it's not the only kind of music capable of having that effect, but I've yet to discover another more personal and intimate genre.
You should give it a try.

I did. The things that appeal to me deepest are also the polar opposites.

Wait's "Hoist that Rag" or "Don't go into that barn" for example, are ragged-edged, percussive, hammered songs that froth at the mouth and, if they were an illustration, would be drawn frenzied, and harried, and would look as if they were always going too far in one direction of the other.

Theres a great deal of control loss in the music I love. I get the impression soul, and its diciples are masters at their craft. My favorite songs sound like they were written by King Lear in the storm.

I'm willing to try anything you'll send me, but if I don't prefer it, I hope you understand why. As Andrew Jackson was quote "I was a man born for a storm."

Nice...Hoist That Rag is what convinced me to listen to more Tom Waits albums. Love that song. I don't go out of my way to find "storminess" in my music, but as far as Tom Waits goes that is what he does best.

People don't enjoy them but they sell a lot of records? Please, tell me, if people don't enjoy a band, why would this band be popular...?

I was taken as rather coherent before that last post, and I suspect Janszoon was asking me to make a move before he was found presumptive and flat-footed in his argument. I don't think he didn't understand.
Your argument doesn't make any sense to begin with, whether you posted a random list of bands or not.

Don't you have some terrible music to enjoy?
Oh fu‎ck, you got me. I think I'll just go kill myself now.

I prefer the term 'connoisseurs'. That or 'elitist twats'. Either will do.

Fear not! I'll refrain from forcing you to listen.
Seeing as you said, "I don't go many places in this forum", I'll point you in the direction of this thread instead.
I've neglected it recently, but the youtube vids should still work along with about 90% of the download links found in the review titles.
You can pick the bones out of those should you feel the urge.

BTown: You have really good taste. You like The Cows, who I have a massive, massive boner for, and you also like a lot of 90s stuff that I like too, like Weezer.
You defended Nirvana way more enthusiastically then I ever did because I think they were the band that got you into music. Thats cool, I have like 40 posts doing that with ****ing Green Day. I like Nirvana okay but I think we can both agree that the bands they influenced are 10,000 times better then them.
And you like the Velvet Underground but hate Nico's vocals too. I love your taste bro.
