Hardly comparable bands.

Not until that album, i knew it was doom/drone metal etc. but i guess i got caught up in the hype. I still thought i may like it however as it was menat to be a bit of departure.

Also after hearing about how great is from everyone only to give it a listen to find it to be boring trash has to be one of my biggest musical letdowns.

You have to let that album sink in, for sure. It still hasn't lived up to all the hype for me either, but I've come to appreciate it.

I didn't like that album at all when I heard it either for pretty much the same reason you didn't.

As for my picks;

F*cking hideous album this. There's one great song, the rest of it is cheesy, Danish synth-pop garbage.

Too loud, too long, too self-indulgent, too much coke, and so on. I actually paid for the bloody thing too.

Loved it when I was in junior school and knew virtually nothing about music, hate it with a passion now. I wonder what their bassist does when they play live. He must just sit on stage eating out of a lunchbox, because apparently they definitely do actually have a bassist.

I remember Noel describing it as 'the sound of 4 people doing loads of coke and not giving a fuck', but Liam think its their best. I have yet to hear it for myself and I don't think I will ever bother to based on all the negative things said about it.

Probably for the best. I say you just download the title track and leave the rest (being the only passable song there and all). You might like it though, and it's not like my opinion is fact anyway. An old flatmate of mine called it underrated for instance.
