Not just yet. It's really interesting the way it's broken up.

I think it's just the fact that you get to hear some great music that not many people know about.. I love the standards as much as anybody but for me it's just about discovery.

Nope rubbish, there are numerous reasons why some music may be obscure. For example, the music created may not fit into a template that allows for classifcation, ie Savage Republic didnt quite fit into post-punk nor did they quite fit in with alternative/college rock, so they went largely unoticed. Like it or not, an artists music stands a much better chance of being noticed if it can be identified within a genre/movement/scene. Furhermore, an artist may release material themselves or on a tiny label that only allows for ultra-limited release and little if any promotion.

It's hard to be obscure during the age of interwebs, but Wildbirds & Peacedrums probably qualify.

Oh yeah, and Wevie Stonder. They're beastly.

Who about?

Wevie Stonder does silly little electronic mixes.. they're usually a lot of fun and should not be taken too seriously. You can find everything here WEVIE STONDER

Wildbirds & Peacedrums are a bit more grounded obviously, their music doesn't vary much but the lead has a fantastic voice.

someonecompletelyrandom 06-23-2009 03:24 PM

I was mentioning Wildbirds and Peacedrums more.
