Hey everyone, I'm new here and not quite sure where to post everything yet, but the GM section looked like a good spot! Anyways, I'm a new artists trying to find my place in the music industry and I need to know if you guys "the community" think I should continue with my work and try and get them studio recorded for sales. I enjoy all types of music, and I play the guitar. Anyways heres some of my information for you to give me some feedback;

You asked if someone would pay for your music, I wasn't accusing you of trying to get rich....

I just don't see the point in asking. If you get a negative response, are you going to reshape the songs that you put a lot of effort into to fit their expectations?

I personally think it's terrible---but I also don't like dashboard confessional. I could see people paying for it, because a lot of people like dashboard.

Cool, well your approch to this forum is ass backwards. See, we prefer to discuss music likes and dislikes over having some jerk off try and shove their own crap down our throats. Your best bet, if you want to become a productive member here, is to request a mod delete this thread. Post around a bit on topics you're into and actually contribute. Then, start a member journal were you can post your music if you wish. My best advice.

No, do you think that when bands come out with a hit song if a little percentage of people don't like it, they're going to change it? I was looking for some honest opinions whether or not people liked it. If everyone said no, it wouldn't have the slightest effect on me. I was just looking for a place to ask, but obviously this forum isn't worth even clicking on.

What you don't understand is that guys like you are a dime a dozen. If they let everyone who is trying to get noticed post their music here, then it would be a **** house just like every other forum on the web. What sets us apart is that we limit discussions to productive topics. This is a disscussion board, not a ****ing audition. Also, I will click on whatever the **** I wish thank you. Read the rules and it would be more friendly. A lot of us have personal work, but we didn't go posting 10 links and a video our first post.

edit: One more thing, if your going to have a video of you performing a song show the guitar. I dont think a video of you singing s what people want to watch. (not you personally, anyone)

If this forum had a decent mod, there would be a section where people could post their work instead of having to guess which part to post it in. It's supposed to be a forum for music and musicians...wouldn't it make sense to have a section to share your own?

We did , we got rid of it because we were getting hundreds of posts a day from people who have no intention of ever becoming regular members of the site and are just here to pimp their work.

You contribute to the site you can post your work, it's that simple.

well that's your decision but just to let you know all music forums treat newcomers like this, in fact our forum is actually a little nicer to newcomers than a lot of other music forums.

make a thread intruding yourself, read some of tore's rules (no one but tore has actually read ALL of the rules tore posted.

make a songwriting journal (in the songwriting forum).

talk about your favorite bands

type in random posts in the shoutbox (bottom of main page)
