really good list ... I have the Alan Parsons Project discography, but didn't get to listen to them yet. Good names in there, like Moby's songs, but i really don't like the man.

I've never heard of Louise Attaque. So I looked them up on last.fm. Listened to Du nord au sud. That opening bass line sounds like Aqualung from Jethro Tull. Lol. I really like it, though. That song almost had an avant-garde feel to it. Very nice.

1. The Martyr - Utopia
2. Subterranean - Color Theory
3. Fantasy For Piano and Orchestra - Olli Mustonen
4. Poor Paddy - the Pogues
5. Standing In The Rain - Screams for Tina
6. Ideas as Opiates - Tears for Fears
7. Icing Sugar - The Cure
8. Sometimes it Hurts - Stabbing Westward
9. Tell Me - Boston
10. Bring Me The Disco King - David Bowie

Wow, Sade, now there's a name I don't here often enough.

I have to give you props for variety here. I like The Beatles and Talking Heads, some older Green Day and some early Jethro Tull. Heard of Black Tape for a Blue Girl but have never listened to them, same goes for Breaking Benjamin though I don't think I want to listen to them. I don't like Billy Idol. Hall and Oates I'm sure I like a song or two but I've never felt inspired to pick up an album. Never heard of The Layaways.

Obits - Widow of My Dreams
maudlin of the Well - Another Excerpt: Keep Light Near You, Even When Dying
The Night Marchers - Jump in the Fire
Comus - Bitten
Clark - Look into the Heart Now
Nirvana - Girl in the Park
Waxwing - Untitled
DAK - Walkon
Autechre - 777
Prudence - Sawmill

From the iPod, so the selection is smaller than from home.

Just pretty okay, from what I've heard. Nice Comus track there, plus an underrated Nirvana tune.

American Music - Violent Femmes
Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground - The White Stripes
Mogwai Fear Satan - Mogwai
In the Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson
To the Kill - Violent Femmes
Pale Blue Eyes (Live at Max's Kansas City version) - The Velvet Underground
Dr. Feelgood (Love is a Serious Business) - Aretha Franklin
Girl Afraid - The Smiths
Who'll Stop the Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Locomotion - John Coltrane

Wow, that was a fantastic list.

dollarsandcents 08-25-2009 11:38 AM

I concur, corker of a list! Not heard the starting track (or the other track by said artist) but everyting else is great. Ending on a bit of Coltrane, can't complain with that. Huge fan of Mogwai, TVU and The Smiths too, all good tracks by them too. Good work shuffle.

J Dilla - So Far To Go (feat. Common & D'Angelo)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Soft Shock (Acoustic)
Sonic Youth - Marilyn Monroe
Medicine - Defective
Samuel L. Jackson - Ezekiel 25:17
A Tribe Called Quest - Keeping It Moving
Fugazi - The Kill
Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues
High Contrast - Metamorphosis
Radiohead - Everything In It's Right Place

Nearly didn't bother shuffling after the first track, glad I did though. Samuel L. Jackson popping up to deliver the classic Pulp Fiction lines made me giggle too.

Antonio 08-25-2009 11:43 AM

Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Fugazi and Samuel L Jackson ;)

Mogwai – Kappa
Cannibal Corpse – Chambers of Blood
Chicago – Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon: Now More Than Ever
Anberlin – Godspeed
Foo Fighters – Gimme Stitches
Guns N' Roses – It's So Easy
Elvis Costello – Stranger in the House
Death Cab for Cutie – What Sarah Said
The Skatalites – Beardsman Ska
Coheed and Cambria – The Reaping
Pantera – 5 Minutes Alone

knj27 08-25-2009 01:39 PM

^I'd have to go with the Coheed out of those :D

All That Remains - Empty Inside
Rush - Limelight
Killswitch Engage - The Arms of Sorrow
The Arcade Fire - Black Mirror
Metallica - The Call of Ktulu
City and Colour - Sleeping Sickness
David Nevue - It Is Well With My Soul
Scary Kids Scaring Kids - A Breath of Sunshine
Alexisonfire - Side Walk When She Walks
Boston - To Be a Man

Out of those ten choices I'd have to go with City and Colour, but All That Remains is a very close (and very different) second. And that's probably my least favorite Boston song. ;)
