This list is instantly awesome with Sonic Youth, Opeth and Swans. I'm not big on Smashing Pumpkins, but the previous 3 bands totally eliminate that fact for me.

The Kinks- Strangers
The Zombies- Butchers Tale (Western Front 1914)
El-P- Flyentology
Pink Floyd- Us and Them
Opeth- Windowpane
Miles Davis- Blue in Green
The White Stripes- Astro
Saul Williams- Grippo
West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band- In the Arena
Radio Moscow- Fuse

It's fun to see Adrian Belew in a context outside of Talking Heads or King Crimson. I've heard good things about Polysics, but haven't gotten around to checking them out. Overall, a good list.
