Canto alla vita --- Josh Groban featuring the Corrs, but then you can't have everything! (Josh Groban) Man, I love that guy's music!!!

Nimrod --- Edward Elgar (The Nimrod variations) How can you not like this?

While your lips are still red --- Nightwish (B-side, as it were, of "Amaranth")

End title --- James Horner (Braveheart OST) is there a more emotional piece of music? Yes, but man this brings a lump to my throat!

Tender memories --- Vangelis (Alexander OST) Haven't heard this before, but hey, it's Vangelis!

Home --- Daughtry (Daughtry) Look, I thought it would be better than the usual X-Factor crap. I wasn't that far right though, but it's not too bad.

The price you pay --- Savatage (Hall of the mountain king) Another I haven't heard before

Mick Harvey Ed-Clayton Jones Doghead revisited --- Nick Cave (And the ass saw the angel) Epiphany, man, epiphany!

I wish you peace --- Eagles (One of these nights) Great album!

Plastic dreamer --- It Bites (Once around the world) Love this album. Just love it!

Hard to choose a favourite, but for sheer emotional feeling Braveheart takes it.

While he has a great voice, I'm not a fan of Josh Grobin's music, nor am I able to stomach Nightwish. The rest of your list is pretty good, nice to see Savatage and Nick Cave on there.

Mike Patton, John Zorn & Dave Lombardo - Slims - San Fransisco, CA (12)
The Fall - Middle Mass
Talking Heads - Houses in Motion
Gong - Bodilingus
Buckethead - Tide Pools
Frank Zappa - Overture to a Holliday in Berlin
Hawkwind - You'd Better Believe It
John Cage and Sun Ra - Untitled (1)
Albert Ayler - Ghosts
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Red House

A lot of bands I know finally!!

I love Red House the most out of the bunch. Sun Ra is awesome, but I don't think I've heard John Cage with him. Will have to check it out. Buckethead is great at times, and other times I don't like him, so I am not sure about that song in particular. Hawkwind is super and that is a good track. Zappa is Zappa. I like most of his earlier works, but not sure I recognize that title. Talking Heads are great. Remain in Light is my favorite album. The Fall and Albert Ayler are the only two I never heard of. Will give them a listen as well.

Nice list!

Oulaws - Waterhole - (Outlaws 1975)
Rory Gallagher - Whole Lot of People - (Deuce 1971)
Soundgarden - Nazi Driver - (Ultramega OK 1988)

Marty Friedman - Its the Unreal Thing - (Music for Speeding 2002)
Jane's Addiction - Idiots Rule - (Nothing's Shocking 1988)
Bondage Fruit - Octopus Command - (Bondage Fruit 1994)

I always have time for anyone who appreciates Rory!

Must say I didn't think too much of that new VH album though...

Yeah, Rory is super!
I have been wearing out the Live in Europe and his Irish Tour discs, so I finally put some studio albums in the rotation for a change of pace.

I am not sold on it yet, but I dig a few songs already. I keep it in my shuffle rotation, and can say there are a few I do not like, but several that I do. So basically I feel very strongly both ways...;)

i like Bondage Fruit.....i've not really heard much of Duratti or Friedman....and to be honest....for the most part i'm impartial to everything else on this list

The Heroine Sheiks - Okkk? (Rape....On The Installment Plan)
What Four - Baby, I Dig Your Love (Girls In The Garage, Volume 8)
Shining - Blackjazz Deathtrance (Blackjazz)
Leatherface - I Don't Want to Be the One to Say It (Mush)
Drunks With Guns - Dick In One Hand (Drunks With Guns)
The Birthday Party - Ho-Ho (Prayers On Fire)
Alien Sex Fiend - Ain't Got Time To Bleed (Curse)
Feederz - Lost Patrol (Teachers In Space)
Einstürzende Neubauten - Armenia (Zeichnungen des Patienten O.T.)
Giddy Motors - Dog Hands (Make It Pop!)

i could not help it....three very different amazing songs :)

Somebody That I Used To Know Gotye Feat Kimbra

Fight For You Jason Derulo
All About Lovin You 3:46 Jon Bon Jovi
Bed of Roses Jon Bon Jovi
I Don't Want To Live Forever Jon Bon Jovi
Captain Crash and The Beauty Queen From Mars Jon Bon Jovi

Just a small, pendantic point: I don't know "I don't want to live forever" (and I thought I knew all the BJ stuff!) but the other three are all Bon Jovi, not Jon Bon Jovi. I'm not splitting hairs here: Jon Bon Jovi has solo work out in its own right, so that needs to be differentiated from his work with the band.

Also, why is the running time of "All about lovin' you" shown? Just curious.
Otherwise, decent list.

OK I barely know anything again. >.> Flogging Molly does ring a bell though, isn't it Irish?

Time to rage on me and my unvariated list of music again:

De La Soul - Who Do U Worship
Radiohead - Pyramid Song
King Crimson - Lady of the Dancing Water
Modest Mouse - A Different City
The Flaming Lips - A Spoonful Weighs A Ton
Pink Floyd - Sheep
Metallica - Don't Tread On Me
Modest Mouse - Blame It on the Tetons
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
Kyle Gabbler - Are You Coming Home, Love MOM

That last one is from the World of Goo soundtrack, and the only one you guys most likely don't know. It was a pretty damn hard job to choose my fav from these ones.

bob. 05-18-2012 03:51 PM

the only thing on your list i can say i really dislike is red hot chili peppers.....as for the rest all great bands just not exactly tracks i would jump up for joy for....and yes i have never heard Kyle Gabbler :)
