You're supposed to comment on the list before yours. I don't know all the artists in your list, but I have respect for Metric and Brand New, along with some Alkaline Trio and New Pornographers.

Tool – Crawl Away

Can't help but love that ST song.

Nine Black Poppies 08-12-2010 03:11 AM

Venetian Snares, Tool and Unwound are the only ones on that I know (and I do enjoy all three from time to time).

10. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Kindness of Strangers

There are better songs on that list, but that one just gave me what I needed right now.

Swans - The Beautiful Days
Boris - Untitled (one of the parts of Feedbacker)
Richard Cheese - Last Resort
Incapacitants - Apoptosis
Fuck Yuo I Am a Robot - Laks Cracks

Yeah I don't know why I have Richard Cheese... or that Laks Cracks song, that album was bad and I should probably delete it.

Charlemagne 08-13-2010 12:13 AM

I like Cage, I don't know the rest, but Fuck Yuo I Am A Robot is an awesome band name.

Themselves- Daxstrong

Empire Of The Sun- Half Mast
Captain Chaos- Here Lies A Fool For Love
The Microphones- Map
Talulah Gosh- Do You Remember?

Yes! I love that Hendrix track!
AFI has entered my ears on and off for a few years now, I recognize the name of that track, but don't remember at all what it sounds like.

I'm usually not one to complain, but you gotta say something about the person's shuffle. If you don't know any of their songs, wait until someone posts a shuffle with songs you know. I really don't wanna be a rule nazi, but that's a big part of this thread.

The Abominable Homan 08-13-2010 09:05 AM

SljSlj: (to pick up for that guy who didn't comment): Devin Townsend (especially Hyperdrive) and Megadeth are pretty great, Mastodon is alright, and I really don't at all like Disturbed, Dimmu Borgir, or Drowning Pool. No comment on the rest.

Gate 49: Love Bowie and Johnny Cash, been meaning to check out most of the other bands but haven't yet.

In Flames - Out Infinite Struggle

The Avalanches - Avalanche Rock

That is a pretty great list, Pomegrant. The best Autolux track, and I really enjoy Zeppelin, Melvins, Ice Cube (early stuff), Beck, and The Zombies.

Strung Out – The Exumation of Virginia Madison
Machine Drum – Disa Bling

Treepeople – Filter
Cougar – Pulse Conditioner
Jimi Hendrix – Long Hot Summer Night
Sebadoh – Give Up
Subtle – Song Meat
Treepeople – Size Of A Quarter
TV on the Radio – Family Tree

Cougar is a band that doesn't get nearly the attention they deserve. Beautiful instrumental rock, I guess you could say post-rock but it's not the atmospheric kind. This album was produced by John McEntire of Tortoise...definitely more that kind of post-rock but more focus on guitars and percussion, less on electronics. I guess they will remain my little secret.

Cougar track kicks in at 0:23

Public Enemy 08-13-2010 02:58 PM

Gotta love Hendrix, Queens of the stoneage and Tv on The Radio

Actually I was replying to the the post before yours, but you beat me to it, so I had to do a quick edit. Plenty of other folk dont seem to know stuff on the previous list. Sorry if I offended you and your taste in music.

Certain Verses do but then I would have to believe in God to believe in Satan so the bible tells me so I am so far unaffected and not babbling at the mouth creating triangles out of crayola and wearing goats heads etc

bob. 08-14-2010 06:58 PM

sorry i edited as to try and stay on topic....

yeah the entire song subliminally spells S A T A N.....and it funny as ****

Blood Fire Death is such a great album

Damn you backward-ass people. Seems like a good list overall, I like PJ, NIN, Pavement, Pixies, and Mad Season. The rest seem respectable even though I don't listen to them.

Today I'm packing and sorting out junk at home, shuffling a playlist of albums I have deemed summery and upbeat. Lots of artist repeats as I didn't start the list that long ago and iTunes shuffle tends to neglect stuff. Here are the last 10:

Self - Super*
A Tribe Called Quest - Description of a Fool
Ice Cube - Wicked
A Tribe Called Quest - Check the Rhime
Self - With You Somehow
Self - Nine Lives
Ice Cube - Dirty Mack
Phoenix - Armistice
Tages - It's in a Dream
The Budos Band - Raja Haje

I avoided the hype for a long time but I've grown to really like this album. It has done my mood good this summer.
