The piano in this song kills me every time.

I could be at the heart of the apocalypse fighting zombies and harassing the homeless and someone starts playing this song...I WILL drop my weapons, insults and all, and immediately surrender despite consequences. Most delicate, heartwarming piece of music I've ever heard. I first heard this song when I was five or six years old and it still has that hair-raising effect every time I hear it. Oh but only when it's played like this:

I love how smooth the finger picking is. This song, to me, is really fragile and shouldn't be played like this:

This version is too intricate, harsh. Robs you of that really innocent and fragile sound.
...but that's just my opinion :)

Wow, that first one was beautiful. Gave me goosebumps. And beautifully played by that guitarist as well... the second one seems to completely rob the song if any of its delicacy like you said.

My Bloody Valentine - Soon

When that droning guitar creeps in all bets are off

Peter Green - Man of the World

Literally one of my favourite songs, the melody is beautiful.

Mary Hopkin - Those Were The Days

I just love the lyrics, it's a song my nan used to play a lot when i was younger so i've kind of grown up with it.

So what does it mean when your mind starts to stray?
Kaleidoscoping images of love on the way.
Brother you'd better get down on your knees and pay.
1,000 more fools are being born every f*cking day.

That makes the back of hair stand up which is quite a nasty thing lol

i love how he says pretty hard vocab and says it in a perfect way without messing up.

This whole album is awesome

His voice, his diction, the strings, the narrative . . . it's poetry. "With their arms 'round each other" gets to me every time.

:thumb: I approve!

I was listening to The Drift this morning, Scott's 2006 release, and the song "Jolson and Jones" started playing. Wow, when those World-War II bomber strings come in and Scott starts shouting "Sonny Boy! Such a Sonny Boy!" and then the Donkey starts hee-hawing... My god. If that doesn't raise the hairs on the back of your neck I don't know what will! Terrifying.
