yeah, but I'm talking about just the music, not the look and attitude. If we're talking about that, then yeah, you're right, but that doesn't make them influential MUSICIANS, it just makes them influential performers.

I was just using that as an example , I don`t see how you can say they`re not musically influential. My entire record collection is littered with bands that are hugely influenced by the Stones ranging from the 1970s to the present day. But a lot of these bands never got mainstream recognition, some did but most didn`t. Which brings me back to my original point because pop music is more dominant the Beatles get more credit.

You have a point about pop music being more dominant, but the beatles influenced a HUGE number of bands spanning a lot of genres, not just pop. As well, the stones were really inconsistant, some of their albums were great, and others were horribly produced, just all around bad. Then there's the issue about them hanging on to their last bit of glory for dear life, when they should have retired with dignity YEARS before.

Yeah but I can say that about hundreds of bands & some of them have barely been around a decade yet.

true, but I just don't think that the stones were HUGELY influential, I can see how they were influential, but definitely not any more than the beatles. But having said that, they were an amazing band, and they produced some amazing stuff.

and to start another topic, I don't think there's a single post in this entire thread with more truth to it than this one.

Bleach kicks major ass. Are you kidding me, its the 2nd greatest Nirvana album next to In Utero.
