Sound Devastation, you must realise the same thing was said about cds when they came out, and record collectors thought they were lame-ass. Personally I collect in whatever medium I can get it in, the trouble I have is finding what I want because it's either out of print or hard to find.

Lets face it, not everyone is going to have a collection like Thurston Moore.

i have craploads too (bought myself a hard drive for music alone) and dont feel guilty as such, but i dont feel satisfied. i go through my mp3 collection and stick something on that ive ripped from CD, and half way through i'll stop it and go and put it on my hi-fi. then i'm happy.

unfortunetely i can buy even less CDs now than i could at 15. being a student sucks in that sense!

hiu, i know people said the same.. and i wouldve done too! but the change from analogue to digital is obviously different to the change from physical to virtual. as i see it.. CDs keep everyone happy. theyre interchangeable to mp3s, and they satisfy people like me while being more practical than vinyl.

I agree with everything but this. If anything I have found more bands via the internet then I could have ever imagined and it's helped many bands who still make music for musics sake be heard by the few people who actually care. Maybe it will be the death of mainstream music but I can't say I'd be sad to see it go.

I'm one of those fuckers that still can't stand digital music.
Analog recordings are the prettiest thing ever.

garbage - is actually just that.. they came out had few hits. Where are they now? anyways even if there still making records and videos and ****... so un-noticed.

Led Zeppelin - One of the best rock bands of the 70's.. compared to the 90's and todays standers there crap, at least anything that wasn't a hit. John Bohan, and Jimmy Page are considered to be one of the greatest drummers and guitarest of all time.. and Robert Plant was considered to be one of the sexiest women of that time.. even if he is a man.

the beatles - aren't that great, I loved them as a kid but listening to them now is like listening to the backstreetboys only they play and write there own music.. beatles had talent for back then but hell I'm happy rock music changed.

most 80's new wave pop bands were actually crap, and one hit wonders.. and made records till the late 80's and in the 90's... but no one noticed.

the misfits - misfits - who knows.. talent is talent, there washed up now. two different guys one leve's another joins.. replacement never works..

death from above 1979 - are overrated and over done.. there almost burnt.

most canadian bands are complete crap.. its not canada that i have the problem with when it comes to music... its the stupid people that want to make crap pop bands, and even crapier "artisic" pop bands from Que... funny.

there's so many bands on so many record lables that there's no talent any more... the same band and the same songs are being made every day... all videos are starting to look a like..

every band went emo with there style of clothing and make up.. emo goth was never cool, and its not cool now..

the used, MCR, and all those weird bands ARE emo, there just new emo.. except it.

oh man, I thought you were stupid but you lose at life forever with this post.

What music is doesn't change because of some popular belief. Music and the genre's it contains will always have a set list of rules as to what constitutes what. HENCE THE TERM GENRE

Stop buying in to the popularized version "emo"

Any band on constellation records would shoot that comment to the ground in a heart beat.

And how is it worse than american pop? America makes the ****tiest pop music in the world.

God, doesn`t anyone have the imagination to say anything other than emo is ****.

The whole point of this thread was to draw out peoples opinions of things that don`t get said too often , I can go to any thread on this forum and see an emo is **** post.
