Gary Jules - "Mad World"

I love the juxtaposition of the melancholy song with the images of happy children joining hands to create whimsical scenes together...the opposite of madness. The light-hearted playfulness of the children makes the sadness caused by adults' choices more poignantly sad.

The song also causes me to think of how spending time with elementary school kids on a playground is such a good way to tear oneself out of one's depressed mind-set and enjoy life as they do. I love the fact that kids pull me back into the present where a simple activity like an underdog push on the swing or playing "Zombie" tag is a source of delight making the moment wonderful:

Francobollo - "I Found A Bike Today"

I was thinking of this amusing video recently after having learned about it on MB some years ago, and I decided to post it here since I think it is great, especially the surprising scene o' passion!

This video inspired me to listen to more of Francobollo's music on Soundcloud ( https://soundcloud.com/francobollo ), and I'm enjoying its quirky, raucous vibe that reminds me of the sound of some Polvo songs I like.

Echosmith - "Bright"
Youtube Video by Salvatore Conte

Today I saw this fan-made video for the first time and feel it is the best lyrics video I've ever seen. Salvatore Conte uses words in clever and charming, poetic ways to convey concepts literally. Bravissimo!

I also like Echosmith's song "Bright" because of the gentle clarity of singer Sydney Sierota's voice accompanied by her siblings. I heard this song for the first time on the radio last night and liked it, not realizing they also sing that "Cool Kids" song about teens pining to feel accepted and admired.

I had never seen Madonna's video for "Papa Don't Preach" before. It tells the story well. Seeing Madonna dance was fun, too (no wardrobe malfunctions leading to falling off the stage, luckily!). As an added bonus, you can see the Twin Towers through the New York smog.

Hole - "Malibu"

I'm currently stuck on this song, which I've always liked immensely, but I hadn't seen the video for a while. I was struck by how slinkily attractive and petite Courtney Love looked, because her almost fairy-like appearance didn't match with the image I had of her from still pictures where she looks a little bloated and drugged out with dark-shadowed eyes. I don't usually think of her as looking seductive, but I felt she did in this video.

I also like her bassist's presence: Melissa Auf der Maur looks so happy and pretty, and I like that she was featured prominently in the video, showing how Courtney Love shared the spotlight with her bandmates (except the drummer isn't featured much). I hadn't realized her bassist was a gorgeous woman.

Finally, I felt the staging was memorable: the burning scenery falling over, the burning palm trees, the seaside, the creepy Baywatch-type lifeguards holding fake babies...

^ The song is pretty good too.

Celebrity skin is actually not a bad album and Courtney though not my fav person, she did look pretty good when she got that glam make over.

Imo this is one of the best hip hop videos ever created.

First of all it starts with Odb playing is wild card role and right away when the beat starts you feel sh*t is about to go down.

Cut to Inspectah Deck hanging on the side of the building just killing it on the first verse.
Then every member gets a new setting that's tied to the story all with an urban comic vibe tied to the killer bees concept.
conceptually, visually and lyrically, this video is just f*ckin awesome.

I watched the Wu-Tang Clan video, inspired by your description, which is great...but I think the video didn't have the same effect on me as it did on you.

To me, the video images seemed forced. The exaggerated large arm gestures that the singers make seem like failed attempts to look cool. It was hard for me to catch the meaning behind their lyrics, so the song didn't make a big conceptual impact on me, and the beat after a while got monotonous.

Finally, just after the 5 minute mark in the video, there was that singer who spit! Ugh! I can't stand spitting! The sight of it makes me want to vomit. So that part of the video repelled me even more than the other parts.

But I do give them credit for taking a theme...a dangerous bee swarm...and running with it, or, more literally, riding on flaming motorcycles with it.

The vid is a little outdated for today's standard but i what i like about it is how they embraced the format of villains straight up outta of a comic book. keep in mind, this vid came out around 97 or 98 and at the time the effects looked pretty good.

The song is awesome though, idk what you talking about
It's the same as any other Wu tang song, the style i mean.. do you like Wu tang?
