I see your irritation, but the way those two chicks chime in their vocals is usually melodic and quite catchy. I don't know, I love them. Well, I love their last album. Bitte Orca didn't quite blow me away.

Oh man...I'm not the only person not into that Dirty Projectors album? I had no idea why that album has been rated so highly. It doesn't produce irate feelings inside me, but it definitely didn't pique my interest, either.

Grimes - Visions

I forgot how unbelievably boring and repetitive this album is. It's not offensively bad by any means, it just doesn't do anything at all for me.

Same here. It's on tons of critics top 10 of the year too. Don't understand

Critics don't listen to much interesting music.

I've found most people love or hate it. Personally, I love the album.

I'm pretty ambivalent towards it, it's listenable and I have returned to it a few times, hoping it may click more, but it just feels middle of the road to me. There's some interesting textures/layering here and there but for the most part it's pretty un-noteworthy. I definitely don't get why it would show up on anyone's end of year list.

I actually find it incredibly interesting, but I guess I can also see how it's not everyone's cup of tea. Still, what is most impressive to me is how much she experiments with electronic music. It's so easy for people to lock in to one particular way of making music (like dubstep), that people seem to forget the possibilities with electronic music are infinite. Grimes is a step in the right direction, imo.

I really don't care for much of the whole "indie-electro" thing that gets a lot of positive buzz, but I think my love for that album just came from the happy feeling it gave me. It just puts me in a good mood and sometimes that's enough for me to like an album despite whatever faults it may have.

These are just albums I bothered to listen to of course, sure there are hundreds of other crap albums I ignored for good reason.
