I was in the food for something noisy today and gave it another listen. Wow! It sounds so much better out of my headphones. I really enjoyed it...

^Lightning Bolt should only be listened with volume way up. I remember you once said Lightning Bolt doesn't have anything to hook you with, too chaotic and no song structure. I'd say this almost primal energy they have is a hook.

Eh, Music doesn't need hooks. However, if anything is the hook, it's being in awe of Brian Chippendale's percussion.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

Well, some people need hooks, especially coming from song oriented music. But, still, there's always something in music, no matter how abstract, that will draw your attention first, before you absorb it as a whole. So, in a broad sense, it's a hook...like this primal energy, or being in awe of Brian Chippendale's percussion.

I wanted to enjoy Brandon Flowers' solo debut ... I just can't.

It's not horrible, but aside from "Crossfire," it's not very good either. Just another case of the guy (see the Killers' "Day and Age" for more) taking himself way too seriously.

I have not yet shaken a need for melody in my music.

i think there is a melody there within the sickness and pulsating noise

you should try crossing over rather than just jumping right into "power electronics"....there was a great "rock" called Bodychoke which consists of members of of Whitehouse and Sutcliffe Jungend and also members Cranes...basically think of those guys playing [with] guitars....it's actually really intense and good...i'd be happy to send some if you want
