I've said this millions of times. Most of Tool's fans are pretentious morons. Tool themselves are not pretentious IMO.
Agreed!!! They get too much **** because most of there fans think so highly of them and if you don't like Tool, than you don't know music.

And I'm a huge Tool fan, but they are far from being the best ever. I've always loved there album covers/booklet artwork. Even though the inside of Undertow disturbs me a bit.

These two statements seem to contradict themselves...

...and btw I am a massive Tool fan and I don't think they are pretentious at all for using art so prominently. It just makes them who they are I guess.

I don't think there's anything pretentious about trying to make an album into a full-on experience. Tool's videos have always been great (except maybe Hush... that was kind of dull) and their artwork has always been great. When you buy a Tool album, you know you're in for a treat with the liner notes.

Remember the 3-D artwork from Aenima? Awesome!

I was going on the assumption that the second statement was also part of what most of their fans think, not what Phillyboy actually thinks. Just poor wording. I could be wrong...I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
