I guess so. I still dont think they were a pop band. That is just a poor and lazy way to describe their music.

Well it's one of the most general of descriptions to call their music. It's like calling The Beatles rock.

Because it wasnt fast or flashy doesnt mean it wasnt rock. Plus, they had harder songs like "Helter Skelter" an "Yer Blues".

Because it's rock doesn't mean it's not also pop. In fact there's a whole genre just for that. Pop rock.

You can call it whatever you want. Pop is not a type of music, im sure you all will disagree. If im going to sit down with my guitar and play some music, im not going to play pop because its not a type of music. Im going to play rock, blues, jazz or classical, just to name a few.

So... what genre do you think pop artists are then? What genre is most of Madonna's music?

Good point. I dont think she pertains to any real type of music. But I know thats not a good answer. I'd call her an entertainer before I would call her a musician. But if she is pop, then that proves my point that pop isnt a real type of music. haha
