Not exactly. You said the Beatles aint doin sh-t now. I replied that they're one of two groups who sold a million records last year. They haven't made new music in 50+ years, and they're still selling a million records in a year's time today. It was simply to point out how much impact they've had and continue to have and how that might contribute to name recognition.

That million likely comes from older collectors grabbing reissues than new listeners fwiw

Do you really think that 20 year olds are impacted by what a bunch of people 30+ years older than them are buying?

Most 20-year olds today should be impacted by a truck.
Preferably one driven by Paul McCartney with the ghost of George Harrison riding shotgun.

No age is perfect, but I find older people to be more like two-legged nostalgia machines who often irritate the crap out of me - not usually younger people.

How does a link to a video that I posted lead to people arguing about whether or not 20 year olds even know anything about the Beatles?

(Newsflash: Peoples taste are a lot more varied than that, so it's not fair to generalize a certain age group as not knowing about the Beatles or anything like that.)

Well, you’re right. He did say “late 20s or so,”
but I don’t think that messes up the main point.

Nobody is generalizing about certain age groups not knowing about The Beatles.
