Default An experiment

Hi, my name is RVCA. By this forum's standards, I have a pretty dull taste in music. I tend to stick to the more mainstream stuff. Some of my favorite artists include Brand New, The Strokes, Muse, Kasabian, QOTSA, and Lostprophets.

Given that information, I'd like to ask YOU to pick ONE song that you think is absolutely essential for me, a music fanatic, to hear. I will try to take every suggestion seriously, so please avoid stuff like "Aqua - Barbie Girl".

Thanks in advance. Here's to hoping this thread doesn't flop big time.

I should move this to the recommendations thread but what the hell.

How about a fairly cliched choice that also kicks ass?

Or how about stretching your wings a little and trying this?

How about some Ben Jordan (The Flashbulb)?
If you're interested in getting into IDM/Electronica this is a good, tame place to start.
This is from the album Kirlian Selections.

I like personalized recommendation threads. I shall contribute later.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Oh man you could not have started this thread off any better.

If you like QOTSA then maybe you'll enjoy Fu Manchu.

All time biggest recommendation for chilled electronic music (yes, I've recommended these guys several times):

The whole album that comes off of, The Campfire Headphase, is just as phenomenal as that track. It just seems that is the one everyone gets into the most.

If you're up for a taste of IDM, a nice easy route into it is via the Amorphous Androgynous' Alice In Ultraland album - mixes up downtempo electronica and psychedelia very nicely. This song's a bit of a standout from the album's overall style (it's got a conventional rock song structure for a start), but one I reckon you might wanna set a few minutes aside for;

^ Not saying it's definitely gonna be your cuppa tea, but it's worth hearing anyway.
