3. Sebadoh - Vampire
4. Dinosaur Jr. - Your Weather
5. Hate to do this, but it's a tie: The Folk Implosion - Checking In/Sebadoh - Emma Get Wild

Kinda wish I could shove Lou Barlow's music down the throats of all the little fucks that think Girls and the likes is the greatest music that haven't even heard his shit before.

No Tumor Circus?

I think that's the best post Kennedys thing he ever recorded.

I've heard the new EP and To Leave Or Die... but I need some more of their stuff. However, from what I've heard, my favorite is Congratulations John On Joining Every Time I Die by a long shot. But my bias may be the fact that I like Every Time I Die.

I completely forgot about Tumor Circus. I could never find anything by them in my less internet savvy days so I've put off listening to them for about 5 years now. I should probably fix that.

That's also a great song. I wouldn't hesitate to put that in my BTMI! top 10.

I actually don't like Your Weather, my favorite he ever wrote that was on a Dinosaur Jr. album was probably Forget The Swan.

Top 5 musical pet peeves

5 Glam Music (pretty general, but it does bug me).

4 "Genetically created music", ie the music that sounds like it was a preconcieved idea. This pertains mostly to the whole Disney charade, as well as certain musical collaborations which fare out terribly.

3 Musicians who use lo-fi as a cloaking device for their lack of songwriting ability/talent.

2 Anything excruciatingly technical (as I listen to music for enjoyment, and not to go through a math homework simulation).

1 Music that exists solely because it can, non-threatening, breaks no ground, often carries the facade of being 'fun' and 'loveable'.

TheCunningStunt 04-23-2010 02:36 PM

^

I like your pev peeves except for number 3, I like the lo-fi sound. :D

And number 5, to an extent. I love T.Rex but that's about it for Glam rock..

Yeah, I can like lo-fi quite a bit, just so long as behind the sound quality, there is some sort of good musical expression... :)

None of those things mean glam to me.

I meant glamorous music. Had I been looking for glam rock, maybe I'd have said that.

I never understand the stick that The Cribs get.
I dislike The Stokes and The Cribs fanboys, but I mean The Cribs have an okay album.. don't get the hate directed towards them by some people.

A couple of lists are not music related:apologies.

The top 5 bands that every other MB thread discusses in one shape or another:

1. Radiohead
2. Nirvana
3. The Beatles.
4. Muse
5. Green Day

The Top 5 most discussed films on MB in the last 6 months:

1. Avatar
2. Avatar
3. Avatar
4. Avatar
5. Avatar

The top 5 most discussed arguments on MB:

1. No! The British invented Punk
2. Dookie is a superb punk album and don't you dare say otherwise
3. Daniel Johnston is genius
4. Amnesiac by Radiohead was a rather difficult album to listen to wasn't it?

Top 5 responses to pic gallery photo's that no one dare say:

1. Adidasss is fit and if I was, then I so would
2. Lateralus- can I put you on my knee and tell you a story?
3. BooBoo - throwover? Pfft You are a closet Ratt fan and don't try to deny it.
4. jackhammer- you are not cool anymore. Put that bald pate away FFS.
5. Kayleigh- you are far too nice for us to say what we really want to say to you for fear of destroying our friendship.

Top 5 members far too good for this website:

1. Gavin B. He knows far too much and can back it all with ease.
2. Thebig3killedmyraindog. I don't know what the hell he is talking about half the time but it makes a refreshing change to read.
3. Right-Track. He is only a couple of years older than me but his wisdom and epic put downs make him perfect Dad material.
4. Flower Child. Says more in two sentences regarding her love of a tune than many have said in years on here.
5. Urban - I always envisage him rolling his eyes at the ineptitude of others and still being utterly readable when he is on it.

TheBig3 04-23-2010 05:25 PM
