I found both albums a bit boring and forgettable, they had such potential. Is This It still stands up as a good record, I listened to them when the hype had died down so my opinion isn't just because I loved their first album when it came out and nothing could measure up. I listened to them all pretty much at the same time and didn't know which one was their best. Even though I knew Is This It had a couple of hits on. The other two were just dull. Each to their own though. I'll never know how they went from being one of the most important bands of the 00s to mediocre.

That's what I'm saying. Not amazing, not bad. Average.

I loved First Impressions of Earth!
You're all mad. xD
They didn't not live up being THE band, it's that the fanboyism over their first album turned into a gigantic expectation that they'd produce more-or-less the same exact album as their first-- in turn, when they showed up with a different tune, one bloke said 'this is different' and it translated throughout the fairweather fans as 'this sucks'. Take a listen without the judgement, and realise that they are, still in fact, THE band!
