i wholeheartedly agree, but i'd be willing to bet that less than 1/12 of the posters here has ever heard pharoah.

just know that i'll always love you for posting that.

It's stupid and I wish it would stop happening.
Lots of recognition leads to overplaying and overplaying can only cheapen those songs that didn't have much going on behind the surface and the initial attraction in the first place, just lots of fog. Listening to that song today is extremely numbing and I'm not sure if it's comfortably so. I wish it was a bad song so that I could laugh, but it's actually really irritating in its mediocrity.

5 Pink Floyd 'pastoral' songs

Chapter 24
Remember a Day
Julia Dream
Cirrus Minor
A Pillow of Winds

Nice list idea. There's quite a few to choose from.
1-Cirrus minor
2-A pillow of winds
3-Atom heart mother (the entire suite)
4-Green is the colour
5-Grantchester meadows

Top 5 Pink Floyd songs

5 "Us And Them" (DSOTM)
4 "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" (WYWH)
3 "A Saucerful of Secrets" (ASOS)
2 "Sheep" (Animals)
1 "Fearless" (Meddle)

Kind of a bland list, but I consider myself well-versed enough in Floyd to adhere to its canon here and there...

I actually like Dogs a lot more than Sheep. Agree with number one in some way, very good song.

I sort of toss-up "Dogs and "Sheep" on any other day; I know that I prefer both of them vastly to "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" (not that it's bad, but it's not near the other day imho). However, as of late, Rick's playing on "Sheep" has grown on me exponentially. With Animals, it's always been a toss-up between those two tracks.

i much prefer Pigs to Sheep. If for nothing else but Gilmour's superb guitar work in the finale. Second only to the Time solo in the whole of Gilmour's career for me.
