I think physical appearance is only half of it. The other half is what sort of person you imagine someone to be. Some kind of aura they seem to have about them. I can see that, strictly speaking, Grace Slick wasn't as conventionally attractive as Megan Fox, for example, but she's somehow way more hot anyway.

EDIT: And I say "aura" in a sort of metaphorical sense. I don't actually believe in some mystical B.S.
