I didnt no. What was wrong with it? A friend of mine went to see them recently and he loved it. He said he got 2 hours and 45 minutes out of them which is pretty damn good value for money if you ask me. I wouldnt be interested myself, once is enough for me but i think thats going above and beyond for a live band.

I'm totally fine with them live normally, but I swear Joe Strummer must have been rolling over in his grave. Words can not describe how much of a nightmare this performance was, but I'll try a play-by-play.

1. Jennifer Lopez (????) introduces Green Day as "a couple of punks" and ironically proceeds to talk about the new "American Idiot" BROADWAY MUSICAL. Ha!

2. A very cheesy synthesizer opens up 21 Guns, their new song, but instead of Green Day singing, it's this woman from the musical! Whaaa?

3. A friggin' choir (!!!!) comes in to back up the woman. The song sounds totally out of place, even though it's a pop song in every sense of the word. Still no Green Day.

4. Finally after at least TWO MINUTES of this, the curtain opens and Green Day sings ONE VERSE before the woman resumes. The choir keeps singing throughout.

5. Song ends, audience is confused, and I don't know my ass from a whole in the ground anymore.

Honestly it was one of the strangest most ridiculous performances I have ever seen. I still don't know what anybody was thinking when they green-lit that one...

That is pathetic, I hate when artists do this. It's a complete waste of bloody time.

I won't go as far as to say it was one of the best albums of the 90s, that's for sure, but I enjoyed it a lot when it came out, as did many of my friends. I could give a rat's ass about the band now and since then, though.

and here's the voice of someone who was already well into his teens when Green Day first hit the mainstream - what the hell is this crap? it's like a polished version of Nevermind for my little sister and her friends.

it's not to say GD is a horrible band but their target market seems to be young teenagers who want to take their first steps away from Disney. considering the description of their Grammy performance i (sadly) don't think my facetious comment is actually that far from reality.

I hear you, and in hindsight, yes that's really all they are...but I wasn't that much into punk yet at the time, only a few bands maybe. It was just fun, probably my introduction to pop punk, and I ended up listening to a lot of pop punk in the mid to late 90s (mostly Fat Wreck stuff) partially as a result of that album...and with no shame thank you very much!
