#20: Amon Tobin: Foley Room
http://imgnews.music.mop.com/album/2...0319180644.jpg

Ah, Amon Tobin. A guy that never ceases to amaze me with how far he'll go. A lot of artists Claim that they're pushing audio technology and science to the limits, but this guy actually Does push audio technology and science to it's limits. I have this CD lying around at home with the documentary accompanying it, and this guy is pretty interesting. He worked with a sound scientist to record a few of the sounds on the album, and recorded everything in a foley room. The song Ever Falling is a definite favorite of mine. It's so beautiful! no doubt He's one of the best electronic musicians. and the best looking one.

#19: And So I Watch You From Afar

Post Rock count?: 9. This is another favorite from 2009, It's the self titled album by Ireland's And So I Watch You From Afar. I heard some web music magazine obsessing over this, so I got it. well, was it worthy of the hype? you bet! There are some real gems on this album. Like the seven minute long epic Don't Waste Time Doing Things You Hate. If you haven't heard this song, GOLOOKITUPNAO! It's awesome. My other favorite from the album is Eat The City, Eat It Whole.. It's definitely the album's most moody track. I recommend this to fans of Explosions In The Sky and Post rock in general.

#18: Animal Collective: Strawberry Jam

If you were on the shoutbox last night, you would be well aware of my crush on panda bear. I mean, how is this not cute? He's not just good looking, he's one of the coolest members of animal collective. and damn, this album is good! Chores is one of my one of my favorite songs EVAR! For Reverend Green (vocals courtesy of the legendary Avey Tare) is another favorite, with the screamed lyrics and the unidentifiable backing instrument in the background. There's lots of instrument blurring on Strawberry Jam. You can't tell if it's electronics or if it's the real deal. If that happens, there's a big chance that you make awesome music. (see: Battles)

Even thought I like nothing on this list I think you made the actual thread a good read.

Makes me want to venture beyond what I usually listen to.
