Hmmm. Well this is my first time hearing the Superchunk song, and I like it. I like The Thermals and that song, but I think it would be unfair to vote for The Thermals without hearing the Superchunk song an equal number of times. So maybe I'll play it 2-3 more times before I vote.

Well surprisingly enough, I'm going to vote for Superchunk! I like the songs pretty equally but find "I Don't Believe You" to be a tad bit repetitive so it loses, simply because the other one isn't. The "oh ah oh" can be a little annoying too, even though that's kind of their thing.

This is why I posted Hotel California and Stairway... everyone has heard them, therefore everyone has an opinion on them.

I wouldn't want to speak for other people, but I've never heard 95% of the stuff you post and don't care too much for listening to the provided links only to realize I wasted 8-10 minutes of my life just to make a single post in a forum on the internet.

That's not really the purpose of this thread. My idea for this thread was for it to be an offshoot of the Album Wars thread, because I was tired of being unable to vote because I had never heard them. Like you, I didn't want to waste a bunch of time listening to entire albums, but I still wanted to get exposed to new music (this thread's intention!). Bam! That's where this thread comes in--it's really not asking much to listen to two songs, especially since they're going to be awesome because they are MusicBanter approved.

Who cares if you've never heard of it? I don't exactly have the most eclectic or extreme tastes; the previous matchup between The Thermals and Superchunk included two very simple indie rock bands and combined it would have cost you 6 minutes to listen to those songs.

This is MUSICBanter, listen to a couple of songs and form an opinion...
