People don't like the stripes because they are that iconic band. Same reason people piss on Nirvana. They don't want thick-necked rufians in league with them at concerts.

I've thought they were amazing since I picked up White Blood Cells 4 or 5 years ago. (whenever it came out). Josh Homme could very well be an iconic rock man for our generation. Theres literally almost no one else aside from these two.

All the White Stripes have done is pick up som really nice and well known blues rhythms and make them cooler, until they either pick up some more off that they realy haven't done anything "great" musically. One creative thing may be Jacks use of the piano, but that just means it hasn't been done lately, not it hasn't been done. But, I still love the Stripes and Jack is an awesome guitarist.

This comment is just as Stone Temple Piloted-declaration as what I said. Back it up.

Yeah, I did a survey.

I honestly would say no one in rock music is currently important enough to be an iconic figure in our generation, i'm waiting for that person. But if you were to say, in general the iconic figure in music from our generation is Eminem no doubt.

Are you waiting because you don't want to be wrong, and when time tells you who the icons are then you'll proudly proclaim them like some echo or parrot? Is that why? Becuase right now the rest of us happily laid or guesses and opinions on the line and said "hey, we think these guys are the rock front runners" and what did you do, you went outside the parameters of the argument and picked Eminem who's universally respected and has already stopped making music.

You're a real risk taker there aren't ya razors?
