So, my next choice is one from my library of music, this band is pretty well known, and influential. Weezer draws some heavy influence from these guys, but hardly pulls it off as well. This is one of my favorite groups, and this song is from one of the best albums of the 90's. So glad Failure is back and making another album!

7.5/10

Simplistic sounding energetic rock music can be good sometimes. I probably wouldn't listen to this in big doses, though. Sounds just a tad bit too generic to me. I could be wrong completely.

I'd say Failure is anything but generic, you'd be surprised how many bands they've influenced; Weezer, as mentioned before. It's a bit too easy to call older bands like Failure generic, because I think a lot of us relate how they sound to how current bands do, who have a similar sound to their music. I challenge you to go listen to all three of the albums Failure currently have, starting with their first album Comfort, then Magnified, and finally Fantastic Planet, which is a stellar album. Failure and generic don't go together.

As for your song you posted. To me, they sounded similar to Failure; similar tones. I thought it wasn't too shabby of a song, could have been better. 5.8/10

It's Nick Cave. It's very good. There's something about this guy's voice that really grips me when I'm listening to it, but I rarely go out of my way to put one of his albums on - which is strange. Anyway, yeah, it's a very good song. 7.5/10

Obviously a very catchy beat, but there's not a whole lot more there to me. I was hoping to hear more interesting changes/effects added to the beat (similar to the drop around 20 seconds) and just more of a progression in the song in general. Just not a whole lot going on here. 4/10

For sure one of the highlights of that album, which was one of the best albums of last year. I love how they manage to where their influences on their sleeves without sounding boring or tired.

Pretty awesome funky business. Would fit perfectly onto the Mutant Disco compilation (check it out), alongside the likes of Lizzy Mercier Descloux and James White. 8.5/10

Sounds like typical experiemntal hipster noise. I almost got a headache listening to it. Sorry. 3/10

Glad you revived this thread.

I liked the drums and the song itself wasn't bad but it sounded a little generic. It's a song i would enjoy if i saw it on a movie scene or if it had a cool music video but it's not a song i would listen to by choice.
