Sounds like T-Rex butchering In Bloom. |
|
Chula Vista will definitely choke me for saying this is better.
I'm sure right now all my enemies are petitioning the mods for he un-banning. All I have to say to them is: Release the Kraken!¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Dinosaur Jr. - Show Me The Way (Cover) |
Dear Prudence - Siouxsie & The Banshees better than Beatles
Sweet Jane - Cowboy Junkies better than Lou Reed New Kind Of Kick - Jesus & Mary Chain Muse both better than original |

I do like this version of drain you tho |
As awesome as the original one is, John Bush's vocals on this cover are amazing:
|
I would say CROSBY STILLS AND NASH - Woodstock (Although I heard it before Jonis so I prefer it)
|
|
i got one!
|
I suppose Marilyn Manson's version of Tainted Love. Not because his version is good, but because the original is even ****tier.
|
What is Tainted Love?
|
One of those eternal questions humans have been asking since they first walked the Earth.

And now that I listen to it, Born to Be Wild has more far more charm as a hard blues rock song calling itself "heavy metal thunder" than a self-referential metal song. --- |

That's like saying Disturbed did The Sound of Silence justice. I am very offended and will have to go barf in a bucket now. Excuse me. |
Peter Gabriel's cover of the Magnetic Fields's "Book of Love". So much more passion than the original.
|
I get that they did it as a joke, though I also get the joke...
|
Seems more like your usual awful metal cover of non-metal music than a joke, but what do I know.
What I do know is that every metal band that has ever covered a non-metal song and given it harsh vocals (or for that matter covered a metal song that originally did not have harsh vocals with harsh vocals added in the cover version) have committed unforgivable crimes against the art of music. It just basically never translates well. |

Ok I legit forgot about Death. Their version of Painkiller worked well too. But I've seen countless metal bands ruin songs they were presumably trying to pay homage to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL2Hq4edGzU Step 1: Ruin the point of the original vocal approach. Step 2: Add nothing else to cover for the thing you subtracted from the appeal of the song. Result: Pointless garbage. OMG the chorus makes me sad. |
New Order - original is classic winner
Orgy - cover is massive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJZTfl3DmCU (tag wrap not working for me w/video; vid woth watching) |
