Despite my biased opinion towards the band. I honestly do find this cover better than the Rolling stones original.

Also in the video you will also get treated to a shot of Bob1's rare La Baye 2x4 Guitar.

Eastwood made some remakes of these La Bayes. I wanted a bass version so bad but I was broke when they where making them (limited run).

"In the Summertime" cover by international band Fatal Mambo (the vocals are in French, but the music sounds like a combo of Latin flavors). LOVE this

Yeah it was a kick starter as I know it with some modifications suggested by Bob1. Still it means there is a new influx of 2x4 with maybe more being made if popular vs buying an original super rare one.

On the most opposite side of possible suggestions from me that's better than the original....

Glad to see this made the ranks.

But my all-time favorite incredible cover is David Lang's avant-garde performance of Lou Reed & VU's "I'm Waiting for My Man" that appears exclusively on the Amelia DVD by La La La Human Steps.

Edouard Lock and his experimental dance troop produced some wildly original works between 1980 and their retirement in 2015 (due to lack of funding.)

I've just secured a copy of the famous DVD. It came at a hefty price but will be treasured for years to come.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire, covered by Mr. Little Jeans.
Its a darker deeper version.

Sorry, if somebody posted it earlier. She is amazing!

I've heard a lot of great covers but the one that stand out in my head surprisingly is Shinedown. I'm not really a huge Shinedown fan, per se, but their cover of Simple Man originally by Lynyrd Skynyrd was extremely impressive. Especially when I'm a big fan of the original.

Devo - [I Can't Get No] Satisfaction - far superior to the original in every respect.

Inna Selez 05-29-2016 09:00 AM

Here is one more great cover. Lindsey is a genius

Damn it - I searched for "Satisfaction" before posting. Curse you and your subversively non-descript videos!

Excellent taste, btw.

I thought it was a novel take, it's OK but not "far superior to the original."

Silhouette 05-31-2016 09:07 AM

@Kedvesem, weird we were just talking about this in the Willie Nelson thread in the Country/World Forum.

No.

Yes.

bob. 06-01-2016 09:14 AM

i agree....no

it's not that Cash's version is not amazing....it is amazing and takes that song to a completely different feel and level...but the original encompasses pain so perfectly

Frownland 06-01-2016 09:26 AM

Idk, I don't think NIN's cover was that great.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-01-2016 11:00 AM

Trent Reznor's vocals blow me away every single time I hear the track. He puts so much vulnerability in his voice and he sounds so weak. Not to take anything away from Cash, as bob. said, his version is great as well, but for it's own reasons.

I can`t say if this cover better or not than original song, but I love how Jasmine is singing it.
