''I listen to music via my laptop speakers, I don't need big speakers. I can hear the music so that's good enough for me''.

Hurts when they say that. I think listening to music via laptopspeakers is more disrespectful to the musician than copying his cd's... When you copy, at least you listen to his music instead of to a set of rhythmic screeches...

Me: "Do you like the Smashing Pumpkins?"
Friend" "Nah, I don't like that underground rock ****."
Me: "How are they underground, they're popular as hell."
Friend: "Yeah, maybe in the 90s."

I disagree. I've never found anything wrong with that. Sure, listening to music on speakers sounds a lot better, but it's not sinful or anything.

I guess this could be considered a dumb comment. It more annoys me than anything else. I can't stand it when I say I found out about a decent band and then someone else ridicules me and says they've know about that band "forever" and asks (patronizingly) how I've never heard about them before. Then continues to make a big deal, etc, etc.

Yeah that annoys me sometimes as well. They're usually just being snobs, they don't realise that it's impossible to have heard every band that has ever recorded music especially their favourite bands. If i'm discussing music with some of my friends and i mention a band i like that they've never heard of i certainly don't ridicule them and make a big deal out of it. I'd just say "oh you should check them out, you might like them" etc. I'd rather educate than be all snobby.

"Yeah, they're post-<fill-in-the-blank>"
"They're <fill-in-the-blank>-core"

And more recently, "They're Electro-<fill-in-the-blank>"

How old is too old for a song?

50s? 60s? 70s? 80? 90?

or even 00?

I read a comment on youtube today, saying :"70s' music never get old", some guy posted on a video "Original Kung Fu Lighting". Most of people including me think this song is new in the cartoon movie "Kung Fu Panda", but we all are dead wrong. It was 70s' work. But it is still so sharp!

So it rang my bell. for songs or music, how old is too old?
