Stupid musical statements that you can't fathom

We've all heard them, people making extremely stupid musical statements that make you go

I probably know loads, one that sticks out...

"Do you know the song Fairytale of New York?"

"Yes..."

"Why's it called Fairytale of New York? It sounds Irish."

Regale me with tales of stupid musical statements.

"Who are the Beatles?"

*speechless*

Yes, it happened.

"Going to see Bob Dylan"
"Who's that?"

I had this conversation a few days ago with someone.

'I'm sick of all these X Factor contestants clogging up the charts, being famous and stopping real music from getting attention'

'Who won it last year?'

'Um..........'

"I always thought of Green Day as Punk grown up. Like a more mature version of other Punk bands."

I just saw him last year and it SUCKED. Granted I wasnt that close but he didnt even play guitar. Sat down and played my least favorite songs on the piano. His band is incredibly talented and he pretty much didnt let them do **** other than just back up his mediocre playing.

Im a big Dylan fan, but that show really dissapointed me.

Saw him in 08 and 09 and loved it both times. He kind of teased us by picking up the guitar and strumming a few chords in 08 during one of the songs, but he actually played it for one or two full songs in 09. His voice is obviously very rough these days, but I found that easily excusable... especially when he played his Modern Times material.

"Let me put on some Maroon 5 for you, dude. You're a rock guy, aren't you?"

Um no, not the ****ty kind! :banghead:

In my experience, many non-rock music fans simply assume that rock = nickelback, seether, creed, staind etc. etc. etc.

Yes, it happened.

Yep, that's happened to me a couple of times. I don't get it.
