I'm trying to think of who would be the least likely to listen to Modern Classical so that I can give them Yasushi Yoshida's latest. I think I'm gonna have to visit some Last.FM profiles yo.

I don't have any Classical except 2 albums. So :wavey:.

Well Pedestrian, I have something for you. I've been looking at your last.fm and I think you may like this:

Savage Republic - Jamahiriya (Democratique Et Populaire De Sauvage), 1988

This is the third album from this great LA post-punk band. I've decided to send you this one cause it kind of represents various sides of the band: post-punk, some noisiness, melodic alt-rock, and exotic, middle eastern melodies. I hope you'll enjoy it.

for Alfred:

Babyland - You Suck Crap

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

D.I.Y. electro/trash/industrial punk rock from LA....no guitars...but as a good and real as any hardcore out there

also majors props for having Uniform Choice in your charts :thumb:

for Pedestrian:

Front 242 - Front By Front

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

this is i think a great introduction to the bulk of industrial music....not slow and creepy like the first wave and not riddled with guitars like the third wave....this is just right :)

Thanks to both of you! I'll probably get to one or both of these tonight after work.

Tyranny for You was definitely the more defining album for me growing up but in some ways I think Front By Front has aged better.

i has more "classics"...like Headhunter, Circling Overhead (probably my favorite 242 song), Until Death....i think in many ways you're right Tyranny is probably the definitive Front 242 album...i completely forgot about Up Evil
