I'm Through Being Kool

Goo really is such a good album....but Tunic actually brings tears to my eyes

Wish Fulfilment is my favourite track off Dirty I think (L) but I just wouldn't choose to put it on an introduction comp. Love both of your lists btw.

^I've put it there cause I was lacking in Lee tracks. And going by that, it seems that Kim is my favorite member :).

i always feel that Lee is the 'John Cale' of Sonic Youth....i think he's a little overshadowed by Thurston and Kim's charisma and energy...and creates some of the best sounds for the band

Brainiac - Hissing Prigs in Static Coture

Since you're a fan of punk and post-punk, I thought of this for you; 90s synthpunk album!

That's definitely true. He's the noise man, the experimenter. On the other hand I feel Thurston has a better grasp of melody and straightforward rock energy. Together they're a perfect match. But, then again, it's not so simple, there's a lot of interplay there and changing of 'roles'. Kim has a specific energy and sensuality and it really shines through the songs she sings.

Savage Republic - Jamahiriya (Democratique Et Populaire De Sauvage), 1988

This is the third album from this great LA post-punk band. I've decided to send you this one cause it kind of represents various sides of the band: post-punk, some noisiness, melodic alt-rock, and exotic, middle eastern melodies. I hope you'll enjoy it.

This covered the bases you mentioned, yes. Thought it got going at Tabula Rasta, and maintained my interest through to the end. Really enjoyed the bassline in the title track. Solid recommendation, thank you.

D.I.Y. electro/trash/industrial punk rock from LA....no guitars...but as a good and real as any hardcore out there

also majors props for having Uniform Choice in your charts :thumb:

This is a crazy album you sent me here bob. I definitely enjoyed it, and these guys seem to be way ahead of their time stylistically. It's pretty unusual to hear a guitarless hardcore punk album, but these dudes certainly pulled it off.

Thanks for throwing that oddball at me! :)

i'm glad you liked it man....it is a very intense album
