Naw, it's cool, Stoner Rock is a genre I've been wanting to get into for a while.
Thanks!

Yeah, definitely old school doom. I have to say they're a band I've struggled to get into. THe music is good but I have a hard time with the vocals.

Really, I love the vocals. Theres something about screaming vocals I just dont like most of the time, but a chanting Fu Manchu/Kyuss esque vocals hit the spot with me.

Do you like St Vitus and the Melvins?

I'm sorry for dodging rules slightly, feel free to delete this if you please, but I was just wondering if there's anyone who isn't really into Sonic Youth who'd like to give them a listen? I was gonna make a playlist of one song from each album in chronological order and upload it somewhere so you could download, so it'll be16 tracks. So yeah. Anyone? Let me ken!

I would love to listen to this, Sonic Youth are one of the bands that I have heard about but have never listened to any of their songs.

It's funny you brought up St. Vitus because I almost mentioned them in my previous post. I think Goatsnake have a pretty similar sound to them. As far as if like them or now goes, I guess my answer is "sort of". I've had one of their albums for about 15 years and even after all that time I can only take it in small doses. If I put it on, I'll enjoy it for a short span of time before—you guessed it—the guy's voice starts to wear on me. Melvins I enjoy a lot more, probably because they're much goofier, but even with them I have to be in the right mood for the dude's voice.

Theres quite a few instrumental (or mainly intrumental) doom/sludge bands. Maybe thats more your cup of tea.
