My friends always play mainstream pop hip hop stuff on their iTouch's so I like to piss them off by playing metal and hardcore on my much-louder-volume phone. They get really pissy when I do.

My brother has had a habit of commenting on how lame most of my music but then ends up liking it anyway. He has done this with Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Boards of Canada...the list is endless. He really had a laugh at Cradle of Filth a few years back and has now since been in 2 pretty serious death metal bands. I asked him if this has taught him anything about his opinions on what I listen to....it hasn't.

Response (from my friend Heather): it sounds like he's getting murdered in a dungeon.

Response (from my mom): Eww. What IS this? I don't like it. It's creepy. *Mute*

Response to a student after saying how aggressive some Metalcore band was. His response: That's a bit TOO extreme. Even for me.

It's definitely in my top 5 metal albums. To me, it's what metal should sound like.
