sure - I'm going over to Catholicism soon which has even more mystical doo-dah - I have seen the power of Christ and I believe, not the least bothered where it sprung from, I only dislike black metallers thinking paganism is superior

I think their main gripe is that many of them see christianity as having hijacked their culture and paganism is their reaction against christianity.

i'm sure that if I have witnessed God's power coming from a Pagan, I would have gone the Pagan way so all power to them

Usually there is alot of 'its just noise' comments, weirdly this seems to happen whatever I listen to whether its Metal, HipHop, DnB, Dubstep or whatever else. I seem to know alot of people who like the safe options when it comes to music, or just dont put that much energy in to listening to music in comparison to what I do. It makes discussing music a chore sometimes, and is what leads me to music forums like this.

I'd imagine that was the same reason alot of people joined here, a lack of any real knowledge/interest from friends and family

That's absolutely true for me. Nobody I know outside of the internet has a real interest outside of the norm when it comes to music. Even if they did though I'm glad though, I like having an excuse to spend hours doing nothing but listening to music and type my useless opinions up on the internet. lol.

Try being 38 nearly 39 and talking about dubstep with people 10 years your junior who actually think that you are talking crap and have no touch with music these days.

It makes u want to give up some times.

Yeah, it's kind of sad seeing friends who used to be really into music lose touch. It's like watching a part of them die.
