I just tried to think of it and my head exploded.

Good thing you can type blind :D.

If music wasn't in my life, I'd likely be still pretty messed up.

PLaying live music gave me a lot of confidence and broke me out of the shell of being the shy kid I was. It made me realize that I was actually able to do something creative and cool.

Playing in a band too also allowed me to channel a lot of bad experiences and feelings into something a little more positive (I was for a time the main lyricist in some of my bands). It essentially gave me a useful pressure release valve.

Most of all, being in a band and playing bass allowed me to be the person I wanted to be. I've always felt that most of my life all the people around me have been pulling my strings, channeling me into doing things I didn't want to do, pressurizing me. Being in a band allowed me to finally be the person I'd always wanted to be, without ANYONE barring my bandmates putting any sort of obligations on me.

Without music life would almost have no meaning what so ever. Musics actually one of the few things im good at. Its what people know about me and associate me with. I couldnt imagine not having music in my life.

Without music, I don't think I'd be as creative. Music really inspires me.

Awkward silence wouldn't be so awkward though because it would be the norm and you wouldn't even notice the silence and it wouldn't bother you because you are used to it.

i agree completely. Although, i'm not sure how anyone could not give a **** about music, regardless of who they are.

s_k 04-04-2011 06:17 PM

Haha, me neither. They really don't care.
Yes they do watch X-factor crap stuff and tell me I should really listen to this time because 'this and this guy is a really good singer'.

By the way you might not want to write like this all the time, it looks quite a bit like you are shouting. :D

I think music has defintely led me to be a more reflective person, I feel I have discovered a huge amount about myself through lyrics and messages I have taken from songs. I also quote songs quite well in casual conversation. I enjoy this!

Music sometimes gives me huge energy boosts. I really feel as if I am doing something good, something useful, when I'm spending time discovering new music.
I think without music go give me this energy, I probably wouldn't have gotten over some tough times in my life.

music doesn't give me "energy" - video games do, though, nothing like pure adrenalin rush on a Sunday night to prepare me for the rest of the week

If there were no such thing as music I really would be useless. I'd probably be a dumb-ass, passionless, waste of skin, pathetic asshole.

Or maybe I'd find something else to be interested in.

djchameleon 04-05-2011 04:21 PM

The thing about there not being any music. I think most of us would just be fine. It would be as if music never existed so we wouldn't feel down in the dumps for it not being around.

It's not like we heard it and then it was taken away from us. If you don't know the magical wonders of music in the first place, you won't feel such a deep connection to it.

s_k 04-05-2011 04:24 PM

That's what me said:

Eitherway, I can't say what my life would have been like without music as I have never been without music.
But I know that if I had to be without music now, I'd probably be dead within half a year.

djchameleon 04-05-2011 04:29 PM

You know I never pay attention to a word you say s_k unless it's about your ex

s_k 04-05-2011 04:46 PM

I thought it was the other way around :D

lol No, it's the way I said it. I usually read what you say about your ex then groan loudly at my screen and try to refrain from replying to it.

s_k 04-05-2011 04:58 PM

sounds like fun :D.
