Default your ideas for reissued album contents

Hey just curious if anyone else gets annoyed at how great albums get reissued with a bunch of pointless demos/out-takes that at best could only sound *as good* as the finished studio tracks and pften sound terrible.

I know it would take more time and cost but wouldnt it be great for an old album to be reissued with a bonus disc of fresh new remixes/new live material that actually reinvigorates the music for another generation. Does anyone else agree with me and does anyone have further ideas for what they would like reissues to include?

I'd like to see Queen's a Night At The Opera re-released with a free dustbin to throw it in.

My dad actually tried to sell his copy in a yard sale a few years ago and nobody bought it!

I think it'd be kind of intresting to see a bonus disk consisting entirely of other artists covering the original tracks.

I am aware that I'm probably the only one who thinks this would be a good idea.

Or better yet, a free squash racket.

This thread feels like deja-vu, but I can't find the other.

I agree that the original tracklisting should be left untouched, and any bonus material should be added to a second disc. Seems a waste of money when it can all fit on one CD, but it alters the album as it was originally intended. And sometimes, bonus tracks aren't labeled as such so anyone that comes across the album after a reissue may assume the entire tracklist is the album, when it is not.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I am with you on this, I think it would be fantastic. The television show weeds has the same theme song but or each different episode a different band plays it.

They should include a copy of Queen I which is about 1000x better than that over-rated piece of you know what.

Having actual talented remixes done by the indie community would be much better than poor alternate takes. If you go on Soundcloud, for example, and look up "Nirvana" remix, "2Pac" remix, or almost any major artist, you'll see a lot of time and effort goes into completely re imagining them.
