Iggy Pop, he's seems like such a kind man. I saw an article where this girl wrote a ten page letter pouring her heart out about nothing in particular to him and he responded telling her how he read all of it and she's a wonderful person etc. I thought it was amazing

I have a lot of respect for Josh Homme because

1) He was/is a member of two kick-ass bands (Kyuss and QOTSA), and two pretty good bands (Eagles of Death Metal and Them Crooked Vultures)
2) as the story goes, he had the balls to kick Nick Oliveri out of QOTSA when he learned Nick abused his girlfriend physically.

The first person who came to mind was Neil Young. Don't really have an examples but he seems wise, does what he wants, and really passionate about his music. I'd also say Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, Dos, etc.) and Alden Penner (The Unicorns, Clues, Solo, etc.). They both just seem like really genuine people that are also great musicians and song writers.

Neil Young, Bob Dylan or Paul Weller. All legends who changed who changed music forever.

Many of the artists I've listened to are the shy kind that try to keep out of the papers and only appear when theyve got some new music out, I like the mystery that creates and I generally like to know as little about musicians as possible it just doesnt interest me.

Another thing I respect in musicians is the desire to move on and change their sound, I would rather an artist try a new style and not do too well, than churn out a less good version of what they did fifteen years back.

Lots of respect to Zappa as well. One for being ****ing awesome, two for having the balls to say in such a banal manner what a lot of us have thought of politics and religion.
