Right now, Coldplay is my 64-year-old father'S favorite band. It could be much worse imo.

I thought Viva la Vida was the best Coldplay album yet, although I haven't Parachutes in its entirety. It was very diverse for them and the songwriting was consistently engaging.

My only real criticism would be that at times it resembled earlier Eno-produced bands a bit too heavily ("Life in Technicolor" sounded a bit like U2, "Chinese Sleep Chant" a bit like Slowdive) but it didn't really irk me that much.

I have to agree with you there - Viva does have a definite Eno trademark feel, which at times works in the bands favor as well as against them, making them sound somewhat TOO U2 -ish, but also putting them into a much bigger soundscape than on their previous albums...

I like maybe one song by coldplay. Other than that, I cant stand them.

i hate coldplay...
too over played man. and the singer isn't that good.
i guess if they stop playing them so much on the radio then they would be good.

I got my mom into Coldplay and my god she wont stop playing the Prospekt's March EP, I swear every time she's driving me to school or anywhere I hear it. Ive heard it soo much I think I could be going insane in the membrane.
