I'm not a fan of Nirvana either, but that's probably well known to you...
Just the Stone Roses? I thought Oasis lifted a heaping pile of stuff from The Beatles too.

Remember when Liam Gallagher called George Harrison a "nipple"? After all the stuff they pinched from them, he added insult to injury?

I remember being really annoyed a while back reading Neil McCormick saying that Coldplay sound like "Radiohead fronted by Paul McCartney..."
Of course they do. They are copying the Beatles as closely as they can, and trying as hard as possible to be Radiohead.

Read on - he said more than that - a whole mouthful.

Is that the very same Neil McCormick who wrote "Killing Bono: I Was Bono's Doppelganger"?? ...never heard of him.

Indeed, but for some reason the "nipple" comment seemed to be the most memorable part.

Their songs are about as deep, meaningful and lively as a store room dummy.

Regardless of the popular opinion in this forum, I love Coldplay and have no issue admitting that Viva La Vida and A Rush of Blood To The Head fall into the category of being my favorite albums.

Coldplay is one of the bands I liked even before I properly got into music; they deserve all the fame they've got in my opinion.
