What song comes to mind when I say GTA?

I have fond memories of driving through Los Santos in my Low Rider blasting out Ice Cube's "It Was a Good Day" ;) And of course Whitey Shafer's "All My Exes Live In Texas" - good times.

One of my guilty pleasures was the Flashback 95.6 radio station in Grand Theft Auto III. I really don't like pop music that much, but I remember singing along to all the songs that station played whenever I was driving about doing drive-bys and such. Looking back it's kind of a mix of Alex DeLarge singing "Singing In the Rain" mixed with Patrick Bateman talking about Huey Lewis and the News... which is quite horrifying really...

Oh I also remember that god damn ear worm "Schweine" by Glukoza in Grand Theft Auto IV. I also have Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for introducing me to Faith No More.

GTA3: Chatterbox all day long. I even downloaded the show so I could listen to it whenever I wanted. I should re download that for a refresher. Animals in a box directly to your door commercials, and what have you. Lazlo.

GTA Vice City, I was on V Rock with Lazlo again. 2 Minutes to Midnight, Bark at the Moon, *** on Feel the Noise, Peace Sells.

GTA San Andreas, it was all K-DST. Smokin, Horse With No Name, Green River, Slow Ride, lol Hold the LINE (love isn't always love isn't always on time), Barracuda, White Wedding, 2 Tickets to paradise (**** Eddie Money), Strutter, and Runnin Down a Dream!

But I did also like Radio X... Unsung, Midlife Crisis, Cult of Personality, Rusty Cage, Killin In the Name, Been Caught Stealing, Them Bones, Plush.

Also listened to the reggae station a bit, but not enough to remember any songs in particular.

They did a great job in San Andreas soundtrack.

I don't know if anyone else had the urge to do this whilst playing GTA: San Andreas, but I listened to different stations depending on where I was.

Los Santos - Radio Los Santos; Ice Cube, Compton's Most Wanted, NWA, Kid Frost, Too Short, etc.

Countryside - K Rose; Whitey Shafer, Eddie Rabbit, Statler Brothers, Wille Nelson, etc.

San Fierro - I went for Radio X whilst I was here, just because I wasn't a big house music fan, so neglected SFUR.
Radio X; Helmet, Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, Living Colour, L7, Ozzy Osbourne.

Desert - K-DST; Rod Stewart, America, Heart, Billy Idol, Toto, etc.

Las Venturas - CSR 103.9; Bobby Brown, Boys II Men, Today, En Vougue, Samuel, etc.

Anybody else lol?

More recently from GTA IV that one Busta Rhymes song "Where my money?" Everytime it came on I got the urge to just run over pedestrians and start collecting money from their bodies. I would go on a rampage just beating them up with punching them as well

The only GTA game I've played enough to remember the soundtrack is San Andreas. I was obsessed with that game for about 18 months. I LOVED K-Rose... after playing All My Exes Live In Texas, I remember the woman saying something like, "All my exes are six feet under the ground. That's the difference. I've never been divorced... just frequently widowed." I'm looking through the soundtrack now & I don't remember Alice In Chains being played on Radio X. I haven't played the game in about 5 years coz my disc broke but the stand out tracks for me were "Free Bird" & "Today Was A Good Day" ... and the whole of K-Rose. Dayuum I miss that game, I'm gonna buy it when I next have money.

Most definitely. Loved doing this, they had radio stations that so perfectly fitted the different areas of the game.

Anyways I definitely enjoyed some of the less known (made specifically for the game, I think) music used in GTA III, especially the rap station.

Vice City's radio captured the setting of the game perfectly.

San Andreas easily had the most varied (and overall best) radio stations.

And GTA IV kinda sucked for the most part (like the game). Except 1979, cause Smashing Pumpkins rule.

Lazlow was hilarious in all the GTA's though

I believe the AIC song was Them Bones, not 100% though

Also that Ozzy Osbourne song in SA, Hell Raiser or Hellracer or something, because I heard it over and over and over again while trying to beat that damn RC plane mission

GTA: IV set records for having the most licensed music in a video game, but I felt as if it was a below-par soundtrack.

Maybe that's because it appealed less to me personally; i.e. the Eastern European, Ambient and Nu Jazz stations.

I found myself only ever on the two rap stations, the one fronted by Iggy Pop, that had Genesis, Bowie and Smashing Pumpkins & Tuff Gong.
