^ Thank you, Norg! :)

I admit I was surprised by some of the bands that people felt were non-famous (given the large number of YouTube views, which made these bands seem *very* famous to me).

What surprises me most about this thread, though, is that there aren't more people posting about new bands made up of their friends. That's actually what I had thought (and hoped) might happen frequently here.

So here is this thread, just waiting for people to post about their local bands, their best friends' great songs, etc. And...almost no one posts. :( Maybe most people don't know many musicians??

Alright then, let me do just that! Comandante Zero are a great two man band (bass and drums) out of Brooklyn who are terrific live. A close friend of mine does their background projections.

Look up Avial on youtube. They're an Indian alternative band. Can't understand the language, but heck, they make some cool stuff.

There is a band called Sunlight Ascending. Not many people know them but discovered them on Youtube. I really like them a lot. My favorite song by them is Diorama Drama, it has 854 views on Youtube.

Whoa! That *was* a great video by Francobollo for his song, "I found a bike today." That guy sure is passionate about bicycles! I will never look at a bicycle pump the same way again. ;) The video was choreographed to fit the music very well and made the song, well, unforgettable. Ha ha ha! I still laugh, thinking of it.

Those were all very interesting songs. Thanks for adding them, shadowtear.

Martin Grech's "Guiltless" was my favorite. Disturbing. I like. :) My second favorite was I, Parasite's "Spoke" with its eerie, hypnotic sound and only 732 YouTube views! All of your song choices had wonderfully quirky elements.

Out of all my friends, I am the only one who likes this song

Also, this came up while I was looking for steampunk video games

miRthkon is one of my favourite modern bands, and this song and the band alike are far too underrated for my liking. They just did a tour with Kayo Dot, so hopefully that spread the word a bit.

Also, Diamond Terrifier is insanely underrated. It's the solo project of Sam Hillmer, and the title track off of the debut album Kill the Self That Wants to Kill Yourself is fantastic. Can't even find on Youtube, so here's the Spotify link.
